Ilten and Surroundings / Area
Ilten is with about 4,900 inhabitants a district of the city of Sehnde which is situated at southeast from Hannover with the B 65.
The earliest mention of Ilten is delivered from 1240.
In the high Middle Ages Ilten (instead of Lühnde) became a centre of the so-called big open air, one since the first settlement with special privileges of equipped border area between the high-level pencil 
Today stamping for the place (district of Köthenwald) the big complex of the Wahrendorffschen is medical centres with many houses and parks to recover and regenerate.

The office buildings testifying even today of it as well as the church come from the baroque time.
From 1897 to 1960 became a tram line from Hannover via Ilten and Sehnde to Haimar pursued.

Jörg Kretzschmar (*1964), former professional footballer with Borussia brook Mönchenglad, SV Meppen and German Football Association cup-winner with Hannover 96 in 1992, later also actively than trainer of the 1st man's team of the MTV Ilten.
